Alma's Rossa ran a very narrow and unlucky second at Ararat today.

First up after a spell Matt Williams was confident she would run well based on her work.

She was certainly a better chance than the $26 on offer.

Drawn the inside jockey Damien Thornton was the victim of circumstances as Alma's Rossa was unable to get a run in the early part of the race. When she did get through the filly flew but was beaten a nose by the Darren Weir trained La Scippatori.
